About St. Albertus Magnus Classical Academy
St. Albertus Magnus Classical Academy is an independent 501(c)(3), founded in 2023 to enhance the ability of homeschooling families to enrich their children's education with traditional Catholic curriculum and pedagogy in the context of community.
After a pause from 2024 to 2026, the Academy is returning with renewed purpose. We are dedicated to working with families to help students reach their full potential as young scholars, so they can look upon creation and its Creator with wonder enhanced by understanding.
About St. Albertus Magnus
St. Albert the Great (c. 1200–1280) was a German Dominican friar, bishop and one of the most brilliant minds of the Middle Ages. His learning covered so many fields, including theology, philosophy, botany, astronomy, geology and zoology, that he was called the Doctor Universalis, the "Universal Doctor." He studied the natural world closely and saw no conflict between faith and reason: to study creation was to come to know its Creator. He also taught St. Thomas Aquinas.
He was canonized and named a Doctor of the Church in 1931, and he is the patron saint of the natural sciences. His feast day is November 15.
We chose him as our patron because his life shows what we hope for our students: to glorify and love God with their understanding by studying the world He has made.
